Shopping Portals…game changer!
And this is why I just love my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. We all love shopping online, now earn more by shopping through the Ultimate Rewards portal through chase. It’s basically a 3rd party software directing you to the store you already love to shop at. In just a few extra clicks, your earnings can increase substantially.
For example, here is a list of my favorite stores and ways to double dip on points!!
Macys 3x bonus points+1 p
Bloomingdales 4x bonus points+1 p
World Market 3x bonus points+1 p
Wine.com (yes please) 2x bonus+1p
Lululemon. 3x bonus points+1 p

So, here’s how you double-dip. Once you sign up for your Chase Sapphire Credit Card, login to your Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, make a Sephora purchase within the portal and reap rewards. You’ll click on the Sephora link within the portal and it will redirect you using cookies to the Sephora website. So let’s say you spend $100 before tax/shipping, you’ll earn the original 100 points on your credit card plus 300 Ultimate rewards points on your Chase account, totaling 400 points for that one $100 purchase—all for taking one extra step and making a purchase via the portal.
Keep in mind that taxes and shipping costs don’t earn portal points. Also, make sure that your computer’s cookies are activated for tracking purposes.
The bonuses vary, so check back often. This online shopping portal can become even more generous around holidays. If you shop during these promo periods, you can earn more by making purchases you plan on making anyway, so check back often.
Earn More than one Sign-up Bonus at the same household.
Did you know that you and your spouse/partner sharing the same household could sign up for the same credit card at different times? Let’s say I take out a new credit card and earn 75,000 sign up reward points…then my husband signs up for the same card (different credit card number), earning 75,000 more points. Once you each have your own credit card numbers, you can assign your spouse as an authorized user. Then, once we spend the minimum dollars required to earn the points, we simply combine our points as we most always travel together. We’ve done this with several of our credit cards. This double-dip trick works with most cards and is an easy way to double dip on points.
Disclaimer: If you’re looking at opening a certain credit card sign-up bonus that’s only available for a short period of time, this strategy may not work. A large number of sign-up bonuses come with minimum spending requirements. And if you have to open both of your cards at the exact same time, you may not be able to meet the spending requirement on both cards without breaking your normal spending habits.
However, many of the best credit cards tend to offer some kind of sign-up bonus all year long. If you focus in on these types of cards, you can prioritize by meeting your minimum spending requirement on the first card before opening the second card.
