Paris, The City of Love!
Planning our itinerary for Paris felt a bit overwhelming. There is so much to see. We took our bucket list of must sees and narrowed it down to just a few stops on this trip, so that we could enjoy and not feel rushed.
Stay.
We chose the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel. We booked using 45,000 Marriott points/night. By doing so, we saved $2100, received a complimentary upgrade based on our Marriott status, and paid just $24.96 city tax/night. When we have virtually free accommodations, we can spend more money on excursions and finer dining.
The Vendome location, is literally right in the middle of Paris. Just feet away from the Louvre, Palais Royale, Concorde Square and the Tuileries Gardens. We also walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower and Champs Elysees. You can certainly take the train or an uber if you don’t want the long walks.

I have to first say that despite the beauty of all the known landmarks, my favorite part of Paris was walking through the neighborhoods, visiting the book stores, walking along the Seine River and stopping at many outdoor cafes.

(Sadly, the amazing landmark was significantly destroyed by fire). I loved the entire area.
Roland Garros Tennis Tournament
We happened to be in Paris during this event, so bought last minute tickets and headed to the venue. Really cool experience.
Cafes, Bookstores, browsing through boutiques, admiring the flower shops along the way were my favorite parts of Paris!
Eat.
You can’t go to Paris and not talk about the food! We stopped at cafes as often as could. We also treated ourselves to special dinners each night. Photos below courtesy of the restaurants.

If I were to go to Paris again, I would spend time just outside the city in neighborhoods like, Montmarte and I’d love to see Versaille.
