15 Year Anniversary Trip to Laguna Beach, California. 5 Night stay at The Ritz Carlton Laguna. We booked a regular room, but upon arrival we received a complimentary upgrade to a Fireside Ocean View Guest Room. We were upgraded based on our Marriott Platinum status at the time. We booked our room using 200,000 Marriott points and took advantage of the 5th night free. We flew on Delta DTW to LAX for 25,000 points each + tax. The property’s setting is just breath taking. Our favorite part of the resort was the outdoor lounge at sunset.

We splurged and rented a convertible to explore this gorgeous area of California. Driving a convertible may have been my husband’s favorite part of the trip. Ha!
Beaches
It’s all about the beaches. We explored: Pearl St. Beach, Maui Beach, Shaw’s Cove, Table Rock, Wood’s Cove, Fisherman’s Cove and Aliso Beach Park. A huge highlight was watching a group of children surf. I asked their instructor what they were doing, he said “oh, this is their gym class”. Wow!
