Credit Card Reward Points
As travel came to a screeching halt in March, you may have tucked away your travel reward credit cards. As with everything else, we are adjusting to a new normal. Most of our spending is at grocery stores or takeout from our favorite restaurants. Our reward credit cards are adjusting too. Just announced, your favorite travel credit cards are offering limited bonus points for groceries and restaurants.
We’ve broken down the point values and think you too should stockpile as many points as possible on the items you are already buying! We will travel again and think about how much more fun travel will be if you are using your grocery earned points for your next vacay!
Delta SkyMiles
Reserve, Platinum, Gold, and Blue Consumer Card Members will now earn 4X miles at U.S. supermarkets (May through July 2020).
Marriott
Bonvoy and Brilliant Consumer Card Members will now earn 6X Marriott Bonvoy points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $7,500 in eligible purchases (May through July 2020).
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Consumer Card Members’ eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants, including takeout and delivery, will now qualify toward the $300 Marriott Bonvoy Statement Credit benefit (June through August 2020).
Hilton
Surpass and Aspire Consumer Card Members will now earn 12X Hilton Honors Bonus Points at U.S. supermarkets (May through July 2020).
Hilton Aspire Consumer Card Members’ eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants, including takeout and delivery, will now qualify toward the $250 Hilton resort credit benefit (June through August 2020).
Chase Sapphire Cards
Chase Sapphire and co-branded cardholders now qualify to earn either 3X or 5X points or miles per dollar spent on grocery purchases on up to a maximum of $1,500 in eligible purchases from May 1 through June 30, 2020.
Chase Sapphire Reserve: 5x points
Chase Sapphire Preferred: 3x points
