Real Client Success Story. Clients earned a combination of 200,000 Marriott Bonvoy points and 150,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points this last year. Their goal: to stay at Papaya Playa Project in Tulum (Marriott property), Mexico, for seven nights using points.
Common Question.
They have Marriott Platinum Elite status. They need a total of 350,000 points for their stay. Their question for Hello Sunny Skies, “do I book four nights using Marriott points and the other two nights using Chase points?” We call this a “rookie” mistake and one that is made often! The short answer is no.
Goal.
Hotel stay is 50,000/night. To earn their 5th night FREE, they must book through Marriott directly. That means they would need to transfer their Chase points at a 1:1 ratio to Marriott. Once Chase points are transferred client has 350,000 Marriott Bonvoy awards and books the entire stay at Papaya Play Project. Now they have a seven-night stay for FREE + daily resort fees.
